Where It Started
From an Idea to WWC1
The original idea for a draft-style Ironman tournament came from a group of guys hanging out at the Longplex bar after the first team Ironman tournament in 2024.
The idea was simple: keep the Ironman format, but create the teams through a draft. Turning that conversation into an actual tournament took another five months of planning, sponsors, and a lot of setup.
Bobby Vincente found a sponsor willing to help cover half of the jersey costs, and Joe Schweitzer found another sponsor to cover the rest. With the jerseys funded and the logistics coming together, the first Wicked Wrista Cup was ready to happen.

The Trophy
How the Wicked Wrista Cup Got Its Name
The name Wicked Wrista Cup came directly from the original trophy created by Bobby Vincente.
After WWC1, the trophy was redesigned into the version that is awarded today. Every tournament adds another championship team and another group of players to the history of the Cup.
The winning team is added to the trophy after each tournament, making the Cup a running record of the players and teams that have won it.

The random draft puts players together who may not normally share a bench, creating new teams, new combinations, and new rivalries every tournament.
Keep It Social
Competition matters, but so does everything around it. Every tournament finishes with a pizza and beer party so players can hang out after the final horn.

Tournament Commissioner
The Commissioner oversees the day-to-day operation of the Wicked Wrista Cup, including registration, scheduling, team organization, communication, rules, and tournament-day operations.
The Commissioner serves as the primary point of contact and keeps each Cup moving from registration through the championship game.
WWC Advisory Board
The five-member Advisory Board helps guide the direction of the Wicked Wrista Cup and gives players a voice in how the tournament evolves.
The Board provides input on tournament format, rules, player experience, competition, and future improvements while helping preserve the traditions and character of the Cup.
